May Flower

Attachment-1

Those of us who share a May birthday are given the emerald as our birthstone and lily of the valley as our birth flower. I’ve always loved this little woodland flower with its tiny, white bells and sweet fragrance.

This perennial plant is also known as Our Lady’s tears. Legend tells us it sprang from the weeping of the Virgin Mary during Jesus’ crucifixion. Lily of the Valley is often considered a symbol of Christ’s second coming and signifies sweetness, humility, and a return to happiness. Both Princess Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge featured lily of the valley in their bridal bouquets.

What’s your birth flower? Are you fond of it? Do you know much about it? Maybe it’s a silly thing to ponder, given the distractions and drama of our lives, or maybe it’s exactly the kind of thing that can make our lives just a little more lovely.

May is a wonderful month because you were born to wear the emerald and the lily of the valley. You are generous, kind, strong, and all of this month’s many attributes. Love you, my sweet…Mom

You really got me thinking…. so I looked up my birthday Month. The December birthday flower is Holly or Narcissus.
I prefer the Holly, the other sounds like a mental condition! ๐Ÿ™‚ Both plants are toxic…. hmmmmmmm.
So the Holly meaning is good health, courage and wanting your beloved to stay the way they are.
It also means sweetness, self esteem and vanity.
I have always loved the holly tree! ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks Alicia…..It’s always nice to learn something new!
