I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of grown folks misbehaving.
The lying, cheating, yelling, and bullying is wearing me out. I’m sad and disgusted by the mean-spirited antics of adults who act more like children than children.
I’ve been accused of being naive, of being a Pollyanna, of over-simplifying things that are innately complex. The thing is, I truly believe we make life so much harder than it needs to be.
Regardless what some pundits, preachers, and politicians would have us believe, it’s really not that complicated. We don’t need anyone to tell us right from wrong. We already know. Even extraterrestrials know.
We can search the world for theories, philosophies, models, and manifestos, but maybe we need to turn to someone who doesn’t look like any of us. Someone who doesn’t come from the same place as any of us. Someone who was alienated but rescued by the innocence of friendship and love.
Someone who taught us, in a timeless universal story, to simply be good.
