My husband and I decided not to go on a summer vacation this year. Instead, we chose to enjoy a summer-long staycation. Admittedly, we are a couple of homebodies who have never really been bitten by the travel-bug, but here are a few great things we’ve discovered about a staycation ~
~ no worries about planning, reservations, packing, long lines, flight delays, traffic jams, bed bugs, bad weather, and other travel nightmares
~ no hassles over finding folks to watch the dogs, take out the trash, mow the lawn, or water the flowers
~ no stewing about spending hundreds, or thousands, of dollars on a week that goes by in a flash
~ no need for a vacation to recover from the vacation
~ enjoying local restaurants, parks, museums, zoos, breweries & wineries, bike trails, shopping, concerts, sporting events, and near-by tourist spots
~ spending time with neighbors, friends, and family
~ entertaining at home
~ relaxing in the backyard with the proverbial loaf of bread, jug of wine, and thou
If you are going on a fabulous trip this summer, we wish you, “Bon Voyage”! However, if your circumstances and tastes lean toward the idea of a staycation, we hope you enjoy the simple pleasures of a lovely stay at home sweet home.
